Distribution
of tribal population
The main tribal groups in Madhya Pradesh are Gond, Bhil, Baiga, Korku, Bhariya, Halba, Kaul, Mariya,
and Sahariya.
Dhar, Jhabua and Mandla districts have a more than 50 percent
tribal population. In Khargone, Chhindwara, Seoni, Sidhi and Shahdol districts, 30 to 50 percent of the
population is of tribes. The largest population is that of the Bhil tribe.

The Khajuraho Group of Monuments (1986)
- The Khajuraho group of temples were built together but were dedicated to two religions, Hinduism and Jainism(adinatha and santhinatha temple)
- The temples are famous for their nagara-style architectural symbolism and their erotic sculptures.
- Most Khajuraho temples were built between 950 and 1050 by the Chandela Rajput dynasty.
- Of the various surviving temples, the Kandariya Mahadeva Temple is decorated with a profusion of sculptures with intricate details, symbolism and expressiveness of ancient Indian art.
